Motorola to cut off more employees as a part of cost-cutting program!

Motorola, the world's second-biggest mobile phone maker, after having suffered a first-quarter loss of $181m due to weak handset sales, has now started a cost-cutting programme.

Motorola has announced to cut off another 4,000 jobs next year, while it is to be noted that it had previously announced to cut-off 3,500 jobs by the end of June.

Earlier this year Motorola's withdrawal from engineering activities at its Cork plant led to the loss of more than 300 jobs. The latest round of cuts are unlikely to have any effect on the company's remaining Irish workforce, which numbers around 20.
