Airtel ties up with HCL providing Broadband

HCL Infosystems and India's largest mobile service provider have tied up to compete with this world going online. More and more Indians are now being attracted to the internet. So, to put up its hold in the market, just like the Mobile market, Airtel has tied up with computer maker HCL Infosystems in order to scale up its broadband service in the country.

As per the agreement, Airtel would offer a bundled broadband connection with every HCL computer.

"With 2007 the declared year of Broadband, Airtel Broadband & Telephone Services is looking at innovative and exciting ways to encourage the growth and adoption of broadband in India and importantly, to bring the benefits of broadband closer to more and more customers," Atul Bindal, President, Airtel Broadband and Telephone Services, said in a statement on Tuesday.

"Our tie up with HCL Infosystems is yet another innovative step towards this effort. There will be more to come in the future," Bindal added.

As declared there will also be special prices on four HCL desktop and notebook computers such as, HCL Ezeebee XP-4659, HCL Ezeebee XP-Z949 and Celeron Laptop and Dual Core Laptop.

This is one way, in which Airtel is competing with the monopoly of BSNL in broadband market of India. While on the other hand, Reliance also has a tie up with Hewlett Packard (HP) to provide internet connection.
